Analysts Deborah L. Weinswig and Nathan Rich at Citigroup (NYSE: C) have released a report reviewing the fourth-quarter results at Target Corporation (NYSE: TGT).

The company reported EPS of $1.24 for the quarter, beating analysts’ estimate of $1.18, and the consensus estimate of $1.16. The company saw a 176 basis points improvement in gross margins. Analysts expected the company to improve gross margins by 90 basis points. According to analysts, the company is beginning to regain some of the market share it lost to other retailers.

The company also issued guidance for 2010. The company expects EPS of $3.62 in 2010, which analysts believe is conservative.

Analysts at Citigroup continue to rate Target Corporation as a Buy, with a price target of $60.
