Who Did Morgan Stanley Name 2014 Back-To-School Champion?

In a note released earlier Thursday morning, Morgan Stanley analyst Jay Sole named Nike Inc NKE the "2014 US Back-To-School Champion" and said it remains his top Overweight idea.

He noted Nike was able to boost its total sales by 8.8 percent during the back-to-school season, driven primarily by a 23 percent spike in women's apparel. This trounced the performance of peers including Under Armor Inc UA and Adidas.

Sole commented, "The company's back-to-school performance demonstrates its market power."
