AECOM Wins $91M Wastewater Deal in Florida - Analyst Blog

AECOM Technology Corporation ACM recently announced that it has received a $91 million deal from the Florida based Miami-Dade County commissioners for supervising repair of the sewer system in the county. The total repair work, as mandated by the federal government, will cost approximately $1.6 billion.

Initially, AECOM received this contract for a period of 5 years. However, there is an option for extending the contact two times by 5 additional years.

Per the contract, AECOM will be required to manage the program and construction services to upgrade the whole system. Apart from revamping the present wastewater treatment plants, the company will also plan, design and manage further construction complying with the federal guidelines. AECOM will also provide management services for the collection and transmission system including the pipes and pump stations.

Furthermore, the company will be supervising the implementation of several programs including capacity, management, operations and maintenance work to get the necessary approval by the government.

This project is vital for the county as improvements in the wastewater system and related facilities will significantly boost welfare of their people. AECOM's experience in handling such a large and complicated contract will be crucial for this project.
