SodaStream Introduces New Sparkling Drink Flavors - Analyst Blog

SodaStream International, Ltd. SODA has entered into a strategic alliance with Cooking Light, a leading epicurean brand, to offer new flavors of sparkling beverages.

The new flavors will be developed under the brand SodaStream Cooking Light and include variants such as Passionfruit-Mango and Kiwi-Pear. These products are free from artificial sweeteners, flavors and preservatives and contain very low level of calories and sugar. SodaStream Cooking Light offers a range of fruit flavored syrup concentrates which can be prepared at home through SodaStream home carbonation system.

These products have been made exclusively for the SodaStream home beverage carbonation systems. SodaStream Cooking Light is expected to hit stores of Wal-Mart Stores Inc. WMT and online, after the company is successful with the regional distribution.

SodaStream International's soda making systems, sold under the SodaStream brand, offer a healthier way to enjoy carbonated beverages at home, with an option of over 100 flavors. SodaStream's products are also sold at retailers like Kohl's Corp. KSS, and Bed Bath & Beyond, Inc. BBBY.

SodaStream, a leading maker of beverage carbonation systems for homes, has been collaborating with other companies to create new flavors that can be used in its home carbonation systems and thus boost its sales.

In Mar 2014, SodaStream entered into a strategic alliance with Sunny Delight Beverages Co., a leading juice-based beverage company. The companies will develop new flavors under the Sunny D brand, such as SunnyD Tangy Original Orange, Orange-Strawberry and other flavors.

In Feb 2014, the company formed a strategic alliance with Skinnygirl, a lifestyle company created by Bethenny Frankel, an author, chef, TV personality and entrepreneur. Per the alliance, the companies will develop new flavors that are low in calorie and naturally sweetened, especially for women for use in its home carbonation systems.
