Commodities Today: The Commodity And MLP Names Offering Opportunity (Seeking Alpha)

JP Morgan analyst Alistair Meadows issued a note on Linn Energy (NASDAQ: LINE) and Linn Co. (NASDAQ: LNCO) Thursday morning, saying recent sell-offs in the stocks offers traders with a "unique opportunity." While Meadows called shares of Linn undervalued, he said shares of Linn Co. are not overvalued.

Meadows maintains Overweight ratings and $43 price targets on both companies.

The analyst is looking to the horizon for several catalysts: an initiation and sharp increase in the distribution and the close of the deal with Berry Petroleum (NYSE: BRY).

Shares of Linn Energy are up 0.8 percent at last check; shares of LinnCo are down 1.3 percent.
