Wisco Research analyst Stephen Share maintained his Buy rating for shares of Darling International Inc. (NYSE: DAR), with a price target of $9.25 per share.

The 1st quarter saw Darling International Inc. report financial results below Mr. Share's estimates.

The analyst said that he may review his estimates, price target and rating after Darling International's May 14th conference call.

The Wisco Research analyst wrote, "any outbreak of Mad Cow Disease, Swine Flu, or Avian Flu poses potentially significant risks to the business. An outbreak of Avian Flu would lower demand for chicken, translating to lower demand for Meat and Bone Meal, a primary component in chicken feed. Any outbreak of Mad Cow Disease or Swine Flu would negatively impact the prices Darling would receive for its final products made from cattle and hog byproducts and could potentially force areas of the company’s rendering operations to shut down temporarily."

Shares of Darling International Inc. were down 2% at $9.25 during the Friday morning trading session.
