DSW Continues Expansion with Opening of Four New Stores

Footwear and accessories retailer, DSW Inc. DSW announced the opening of four new stores in Oswego, IL; Waco, TX; North Wales, PA and Mount Pleasant, SC on Aug 27, 2015.

The stores, ranging from 12,000 square feet to 18,000 square feet, will accommodate over 20,000 pairs of shoes along with handbags and accessories.

These stores are part of the company's expansion strategy, outlined earlier this month. DSW announced that it intends to open 22 new stores in the fall of 2015, nationwide, with six to be opened in new markets.

Apart from the four abovementioned locations, other stores are expected to be opened in the states of Virginia, California, Utah, Nebraska, Michigan, Tennessee, Alabama, Oregon, Washington and Connecticut, between the months of August–November.

Of late, DSW has been extensively widening its reach throughout the United States. In May, the company announced the opening of a new store in West Babylon, NY.

These store openings signify the company's commitment toward strengthening its network with an aim to drive top-line growth. With the addition of these four stores, DSW will have a network of 453 stores in 42 states.

We believe the company's expansion initiatives will prove instrumental in generating higher sales. The company will be reporting its second-quarter 2015 results on Aug 25, before the market opens.

DSW currently carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
