TASER Wins AXON On-Body Camera Orders - Analyst Blog

TASER International Inc. TASR, through its affiliate EVIDENCE.com, announced that it has received numerous orders for its AXON body-worn video cameras and EVIDENCE.com solution.

The company expects to generate considerable revenues in the first half of fiscal 2014 from these orders.

In its latest update related to its new set of AXON on-body wearable camcorders for police officers, TASER announced three significant contracts with law enforcement agencies. The company will supply 96 "AXON body" on-body cameras to Virginia's Danville Police Department. This also includes a four-year contract to supply EVIDENCE.com digital video storage service for the devices.

In addition, it received orders of 84 AXON body cameras and 50 AXON flex cameras from the Duluth and Miami Police Departments, respectively.

Apart from these three big contracts, the company also won orders of AXON body and flex body worn video cameras. In addition, EVIDENCE.com provided subscriptions to different law enforcement agencies in different locations like Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Idaho, Kentucky, New Mexico, Missouri, North Carolina, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington state, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

The company continues to invest considerably to upgrade and produce new products for the law enforcement services. AXON body-worn video cameras and EVIDENCE.com are the main advanced technology solutions coming from TASER.

EVIDENCE.com is a secured digital evidence management solution by which an agency can access its data safely. During the fourth quarter 2013, the company's research and development expenses surged 73.7% year over year due to additional personnel expenses associated with EVIDENCE.com & Video segment product development initiatives.

Recently, the company reported a solid fourth quarter driven by higher sales. It surpassed the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 160% and was higher 85.7% from the year-ago figure.
