GlaxoSmithKline and Isis Pharmaceuticals partnership shouldn't be overlooked as a long-term
Isis Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ISIS) ended the first quarter, with nearly $427 million in cash. Revenue for the three months ended March 31, 2011 was $21.1 million, compared to $29.9 million for the same period in 2010.
Isis Pharmaceuticals earned a $3 million payment from GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) to discover and develop drugs to treat rare and infectious diseases. Isis have well identified our first development candidate, ISIS-TTRRx, which is ready to begin a Phase 1 clinical study. If all six programs are successfully developed, Isis is eligible to receive license fees and milestone payments, totaling nearly $1.5 billion. Isis Pharmaceuticals also has strategic alliance with Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY), Eli Lilly (LLY) , Teva (TEVA) and many others.
