Forex - USD/JPY down at the end of U.S. session

Forex Pros – The U.S. Dollar was lower against the Japanese Yen on Friday after the release of U.S. data on CPI.


USD/JPY was trading at 80.79, down 0.19% at time of writing.


The pair was likely to find support at 80.16, Monday’s low, and resistance at 81.32, Thursday’s high.


Earlier in the day, official data showed that consumer price inflation in the U.S. rose to a seasonally adjusted 0.4% last month, from 0.5% in the preceding month.


Analysts had expected CPI to rise 0.4% last month.


Meanwhile, the U.S. Dollar was up against the Euro and the British Pound, with EUR/USD shedding 0.89% to hit 1.4119 and GBP/USD falling 0.58% to hit 1.6197.
