Kyocera Echo for Sprint on sale starting April 17th for $199.99

Sprint announced today that the previously revealed Kyocera Echo smartphone will be available for purchase by customers on April 17th for $199.99. Beginning March 26th, Sprint customers can pre-order the Echo, making the device available for pickup on April 17th. The Kyocera Echo is the world's first smartphone that utilizes two touchscreen displays.

The Kyocera Echo sports two, 3.5″ WVGA touchscreen displays that are connected by a hinge. The Echo smartphone runs Android 2.2.

  • Sprint's nationwide 3G network and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g)
  • Wi-Fi hotspot capability, which supports wireless connections for up to five devices
  • 5-megapixel camera with flash, autofocus and digital zoom
  • 720p HD camcorder to quickly capture those on-the-go memorable moments
  • Corporate (Exchange ActiveSync®) and personal (POP & IMAP) e-mail, IM (Google Talk™), text messaging
  • Stereo Bluetooth® 2.1 (+ EDR)
  • Full HTML Web browser with Google Search™
  • 1 gigabyte (GB) of onboard memory and an 8GB microSD™ card for the external memory card slot, which supports cards up to 32GB
